On Change

We don’t have too much by the way of new updates or features this month I’m afraid; that’s because we’re going through somewhat of a period of change here at www.talesofbraveulysses.com; some of which we have chosen, some of which, as is inevitable in life, we have not.

Positively, we are engaged with a variety of new projects which we hope to bring to you soon, but will take a while to come to fruition; including some film projects and some original music. As individual contributors we also continue to take time to broaden our own horizons and look forward to sharing those experiences with you.

Of course as individuals we also have other demands on our time and energy, as I am sure you do, dear reader. Families to cherish, households to run, day jobs to work at and bills to pay. The current economic climate has not been kind to many of us, and even those of us lucky enough to be in full-time paid employment often have the spectre of sometimes tumultuous change; good, bad or indifferent hanging over us.

Recently a friend posted a slogan on Facebook which read ‘Don’t fear change, change fear’. This seems like a timely reminder. Also in these uncertain times, I am reminded Ghandi once said, ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’. Makes you think. Maybe uncertainty is our opportunity to make things better. And rather than looking to our struggling ‘leaders’, perhaps the only people we have to ask of and answer to in the long run is ourselves.

I took a walk at lunchtime today; it was one of those cold, bright autumn days we sometimes get in Britain. The sun was shining, the sky was a brilliant blue with not a single cloud in sight. It seemed like the sort of day when absolutely anything is possible. Then I reminded myself, every day is like that, irrespective of the weather. Every day is a brand new opportunity to start something new.

Enjoy the site, and come back and see us soon. Who knows where we all may be by then, but I’m hopeful it will be worth the journey there; and we’ll find you in good health and good heart.
